The following exert is an eye witness statement. Please read into it what you will. This has been reported to mufon who I am sure are investigating:
I walk my dog down to the end of my street most evenings around 10:00 pm, and while she’s sniffing around, i look up at the sky. tonight (wednesday, may 24, 2017)at just about 10:00, while standing at the corner of north winooski avenue and decatur street in burlington, vermont, i noticed a “star” i didn’t remember ever seeing before. it was quite high above and to the right of the star i see every night in the northeast sky at that hour. the “star” was very large and very bright, like a planet—at least three times as big and three times as bright as the other star. as i watched i became aware that the “star” was moving very slowly closer to the other star. it was descending almost straight down but drifting to the left somewhat, and it was becoming dimmer and dimmer until by the time i lost it (or it blinked out), it was just a pinpoint. no one else was around until, as the “star” was nearing the treeline, a young woman came by. i showed her the “star” and she watched it with me for the last couple of minutes. i estimate that it took 7 or 8 minutes to descend from where i first noticed it, about ¾ of the way to the “top” of the sky. i stayed at the spot for another 20 minutes or so, in case it appeared again, but it never did. no sound. no rays. no sparks. just a white glowing ball, traveling very slowing almost straight down. it seemed to be located over the winooski river near the center of the town of winooski, about 1/2 mile from where i was standing.
