UFO Sighting in Plumas Lake, California on 1994-09-16 21:00:00 – A light so bright it outshined all the stars in the sky. it was stationary for over 10 minutes. then shot up vertically and stopped.

The following exert is an eye witness statement. Please read into it what you will. This has been reported to mufon who I am sure are investigating:

In the high sierras in northern california, you can see every star. a group of us were camping. i was called by our family friend david briefly (witness who is now deceased) to come look at this bright light in the sky. he told me he had been watching it for at least 10 minutes. it was not a star, planet or weather balloon. not a satellite either. this extremely bright object never moved as the earth turned which you can see by the stars. then, it shot straight up…Vertically at extreme speed coming to an abrupt stop. it had achieved enough vertical altitude to have shrunk in size. it stayed at this higher altitude for at least 5 minutes, then it descended rapidly to come to another abrupt stop at the exact spot where we first spied it. it stayed motionless for a couple of minutes, then it shot overhead, traveling so fast, with absolutely no sound. the brightness of this object was extraordinary. it’s ability to maneuver vertically up and down, coming to a complete stop without slowing in speed was like nothing i have ever seen. when it flew over our heads it was so quiet, but it’s brightness was impressive. while we watched this object, we got the feeling it was watching us. in this particular area of the mountains, there are no other living humans. it is near the pacific crest trail. another thing we observed was the lack of night sounds…Crickets and frogs that you usually hear by a lake. after the object flew over head and was gone, the frogs and crickets started croaking and chirping again.
