UFO Sightings: Kurt Russell And Former Arizona Governor Talk Openly About ‘Phoenix Lights’ Incident

The UFO sighting known as the “Phoenix Lights” was reported by actor Kurt Russell on March 13, 1997, when he was piloting a plane over Phoenix at the time, but what do we know today about this extraordinary event? On the night in question, witnesses spotted a large string of extremely bright lights that were flying in what appeared to be a V formation. While some witnesses have claimed to see some kind of UFO aircraft behind the beaming lights, others only saw the lights themselves.

Before anyone knew that Kurt Russell was the pilot who had phoned in the “Phoenix Lights” incident, 20,000 other residents also witnessed the alleged UFO sighting. One of these individuals was Dr. Lynne Kitei, who said that even though she had never been a believer in UFOs before, this event changed her mind.

“I don’t know what they were. But I know that they were. It was a mile-wide formation of these orbs, and I caught them head-on turning into a V.”

As others in Phoenix looked up at the sky and saw the same thing that Dr. Kitei and Kurt Russell were seeing, they immediately picked up their phones to try and find some sort of answer to the “Phoenix Lights” UFO sighting, NBC’s 12 News reports.

Kurt Russell witnessed the “Phoenix Lights” UFO sighting when he was flying with his son in Arizona and noticed that there were six extremely bright lights in the sky over the airport, Movie Web reported.

“I was flying him to go see his girlfriend, and we’re on approach, and I saw six lights over the airport — absolutely uniform — in a V-shape. Oliver said to me, I was just looking at him, I was coming in, we’re maybe a half a mile out, and Oliver said, ‘Pa, what are those lights?’ Then I kind of came out of my reverie and I said, ‘I don’t know what they are.’ He said, ‘Are we okay here?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna call in,’ and I reported it.”

This same V-shaped light display was witnessed by residents over a wide space of about 300 miles, and from the tip of Tucson to Nevada, as well as over Phoenix.

With so many Phoenix residents wondering if they had just witnessed a UFO sighting, explanations were slow and not forthcoming until Luke Air Force Base suggested that it was always possible that the “Phoenix Lights” were flares that had been dropped from a very high altitude. This explanation, however, baffled many people, including Dr. Lynne Kitei.

Kitei and others who witnessed the alleged UFO sighting don’t believe the government’s explanation of flares, especially as so many claim to have seen either “gunmetal” or black aircraft behind the bright “Phoenix Lights.” If they hadn’t seen the aircraft behind them they say that they might be more inclined to believe the explanation of flares, but even that explanation was just a guess given by the military.

There are some aviation experts who have agree with the military and say that flares are a credible explanation for the V-formation of lights that were seen. Ty Groh, an F-16 pilot, has said that when you get flares in the sky they will act similar to hot air balloons and move wherever the wind blows. Groh stated that when you get extremely bright objects like this, and they are very far away, they will just naturally appear much closer than they actually are and that this had been his personal experience as a pilot.

“You’ll be looking at airliners that look like they’re 10 miles away and they’re 400 miles away.”

Even with flares as an explanation for the “Phoenix Lights” UFO sighting, many people still believe that the event they witnessed on the night of March 13, 1997, could only have been extraterrestrial. This includes Fife Symington, 71, who was the governor of Arizona from 1990 to 1998. Symington believes that the government was well aware of this UFO sighting, especially as he personally called the Pentagon and reported the incident.

Arizona’s former governor also says the claim that the “Phoenix Lights” were made by flares is “total bunk,” as the Express reports.

“Issues like this go up the chain of command all the way to the Pentagon. We called the Pentagon. I think they knew there had been sightings, but they weren’t talking about it. I have seen high altitude flares before. There is no way they were flares. It has never been explained.”

NAMED: Secret US team of scientists and military who ‘experimented on aliens and UFOs’

The 12 late scientists and officials who have been named as belonging the alleged Majestic-12 group.

The identities of the late officials are revealed in what conspiracists say is a leaked document from the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) from the Eighties.Yesterday, Express.co.uk revealed how the 47-page alleged “above top secret” file had been released and contained claims the 1947 Roswell UFO crash did happen, dead aliens were found and there was a major cover up to hide the truth.

The document is said to have been given to Heather Wade, host of US late-night online paranormal radio show Midnight in the Desert, from a known source who has not been named.

Many UFO experts have branded the document fake, but the release has set the conspiracy theory world on fire, with others convinced it could be genuine.

The document claims a highly secretive team of top scientists, government officials and military leaders – all now dead – was set up in the wake of the Roswell incident to investigate the “captured flying sauce remains” and “four dead aliens” and assess the risk to the planet of “visiting aliens“.

The document claims the group was called Majestic 12 and set up on the orders of President Harry S Truman, in the wake of Roswell.

It identifies these people as the original members:*Lloyd Viel Berkner, an American physicist and engineer, who died in 1967 aged 62, and had investigated the Earth’s atmosphere.

*Detlev Wulf Bronk, another US scientist, educator, who died aged 78 in 1975, and was recognised for developing biophysics as an established science.

*Vannevar Bush, an American engineer and inventor and science, who led the US Office of Scientific Research and Development during World War II.

It carried out military research and development. He died aged 84 in 1974.

*Donald Howard Menzel, who died in 1976 aged 75, who was one of the first theoretical astronomers and astrophysicists in the US, and discovered the physical properties of the solar chromosphere, the chemistry of stars, the atmosphere of Mars, and the nature of gaseous nebulae.

*Hoyt Sanford Vandenberg, a US Air Force general, its second Chief of Staff, and second Director of Central Intelligence, who died in 1954 aged 54.

*Nathan Farragut Twining, who died in 1982 aged 84, who was Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force from 1953 until 1957, and during the Roswell UFO incident.

*James Vincent Forrestal, who died in 1949 aged 57, and was the first United States Secretary of Defense.

*Gordon Gray, who died in 1982 aged 73, who was a defense and national security government official.

*Roscoe Henry Hillenkoetter, the third director of the post-World War II United States Central Intelligence Group (CIG), who died aged 85 in 1982.

*Jerome Clarke Hunsaker, who died aged 98 in 1984, and was from 1941 to 1956 chairman of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.

Part of the document, a four page report, said to have been prepared on January 8, 1989, claims to be a preliminary briefing about Majestic 12.The report says the group had the remains of seven crashed flying saucers and 27 aliens.

Seasoned UFO expert and nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman is investigating the authenticity of the document and is said to believe it could be genuine.

The Paridigm Research Group (PRG) which tries to pressure the White House to disclose documents about UFOs believes the report could be genuine, but accepts it could also be fake.

The same phenomenon has been recorded on cameras across the globe.

The strange phenomena, described as an orb of light inside a disk-shaped purple haze, continues to make headlines worldwide after being captured on camera.In the latest case, The Irish Sun reported that a “bizarre UFO” was pictured in daylight above County Leitrim, which it said was a UFO hotspot.

The newspaper website described it as an “eerie snap of a UFO,” and said it had been recorded as a sighting by the Filer’s Research Institute, the US-based National UFO Center, run by Major George A. Filer, who spent 20 years in the Air Force working as an intelligence officer, and is now convinced aliens exist.

The Irish Sun warded of sceptics, saying: “Before you dismiss it as a picture of the moon at night – the image was taken in broad daylight.”

It called on astronomer Eamonn Ansbro of Kingsland Observatory in Boyle, Co Roscommon, for his view.

He said he thought the latest sighting could be a new form of light known as a plasma ball.

He said: “There’s a similar ball of light that has been seen in a place called Hessdalen in Norway.

“I know the people who operate there and they have automated instrumentation that has recorded them, and we’ve had recordings here as well.

“It appears to be a new form of light in physics that we don’t know about yet, so we’re putting the physics to it to see what it’s about.”

In the latest case the anonymous photographer in County Leitrim said: “The purple haze was not there or visible to the eye. I’m confused in truth.”

The US-based Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) holds the worlds largest database of UFO sightings.

I think MUFON should have a section with typical FAQs to help people to identify correctly their alleged UFO sightings.

It is regularly sent images showing the same lens flare, but it rarely updates its website to say they have been dismissed as such.MUFON usually receives 20 plus reports, often including photographs or video, from people around the world each day.

We found scores of alleged UFO pictures sent in by members of the public to MUFON that were clearly or likely to be just lens flares.

In most of these cases the person filing the report said they saw nothing at the time, but spotted the “object” after later reviewing the picture.

In many situations the lens flare only appeared in one or two of a series of images.

In one case the photographer, a man from Los Gatos California, said: “As soon as we looked at the pictures, to our amazement, we had captured a strange orb with layers of colour around it in a couple of the shots.”

MUFON

Similar lens flares that have been reported to the MUFON database.

Despite the high volume of red-herring reports with the potential to be easily solved, MUFON lists the majority of them as still unresolved.

Although there is reference to lens flares on the MUFON website, there is no specific article highlighting the different types which people could refer to before sending in images.We showed the County Leitrim “UFO” to Scott Brando, a forensic UFO investigator behind the website ufoofinterest.org which exposes hoaxes and false UFO sightings.

He said: “Well, this picture cropped shows just a lens flare.”

He provided examples of the same lens flare produced by cameras pointed at the sun.”

He said: “I think MUFON should have a section with typical FAQs to help people to identify correctly their alleged UFO sightings.

“Of course this means people will learn to identify a ‘flying object’ before sending a report to MUFON.”

Gigantic ‘alien mothership’ hovers over city in eerie footage before ‘disappearing’

In the remarkable footage – filmed above Toronto in Canada – four giant bright lights are seen in the night sky.The furthest object to the left slowly moves above the skyscrapers and houses and is thought to be a helicopter.

But the three other lights remain in the same position for several minutes.

Alien enthusiasts SecureTeam10 posted the clip to their YouTube channel yesterday (June 10).

“The source of this said the things made no sound and just sat there for five minutes before disappearing,” said Tyler Glockner, who owns the site.

“They did not move or do anything.“These three lights are just eerily hovering over the city.

“Some believe that they’re three separate entities or many believe this is one large craft.”

Bizarre filming seems to record a flying object. It emits strange light when it moves. It is believed that the recording was made in the 1980s or 1990s.

Area 51 in Nevada is known for stories, conspiracy theories and strange recorded images, and this is no different, at least as far as the last part is concerned. The UFO hunters at SecureTeam 10 have published a video of the alleged alien flying object, writes Daily Mail.

Tyler Glockner, who is the head of SecureTeam 10, said that “it’s one of the most mysterious footage in the industry.”

In recent decades, many people have argued that Area 51 has secret technology of alien origins. The military complex is well guarded and has a good geographical position between a mountain chain and the bottom of a dry lake.

There are also people with important functions who have argued that this area is the place where research is carried out with technology from other civilizations, such as Boyd Bushman, an important scholar who worked for Lockheed Martin.

Even so, conspiracies have proven to be false many times, being a military research with state-of-the-art technology. From this point of view, it plays an important role in history. Here, were created the U-2 spider plane, the SR-71 Blackbird and the F-117 invisible hunting plane.

In spite of media attention and conspiracy theorists, there are few pictures, taken by brave photographers who have ventured near the area.

Vladimir Putin has been asked to tell the world what he knows about aliens.

US citizen, Stephen Bassett, executive director of the Paridigm Research Group International (PRG), has spent a week in Russia trying to convince Mr Putin of the importance of lifting an alleged “truth embargo” that stops world leaders telling the public the truth about aliens.

Mr Bassett, who is the only registered lobbyist in the US on the subject of alien disclosure, believes a conspiracy theory that the truth of aliens has been withheld due to the fear of the impact on religion and the rule of law if we all knew.

He believes the conspiracy has been in place since at least 1947 when a flying saucer allegedly crash landed at Roswell, New Mexico.

Mr Bassett was interviewed for a Russian documentary during his visit.

A PRG statement said: “During the interview, which will be broadcast in Russian in August, Bassett discussed various considerations that might prompt Russian President Vladimir Putin to make the first formal acknowledgment by a head of state regarding an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race.

“The Cold War has never really ended with gaming, brinksmanship and destructive policies continuing from both sides.

“While humans have continued to destroy each other and the biosphere in which they live, there is a galaxy full of life waiting to be engaged.

“The extraterrestrial reality transcends politics, religion, race, and war. The embargo on this truth has accomplished nothing but delay the advancement of human civilisation.

“Any number of heads of state could end this embargo at any time, and it can’t come soon enough.

“What the keepers of the truth embargo either fail or refuse to realise is a post-disclosure world could be the bridge between the US, China and Russia that would permit the necessary geopolitical realignments setting a new course away from the seemingly permanent war economies wasting vital resources and keeping the world always on the brink.”

A strange disc-shaped UFO was spotted in the night sky at a distance of 30 miles from the Texas border by a witness named Joey Franco. He captured the event in a clip with the help of a camera. The mysterious flying object can be seen flying around swiftly in the video.

The UFO came out of nowhere in the sky and was flying at an extremely fast pace. However, it disappeared once in the sky, but again reappeared and stopped after the witness flashed a laser at the craft.

When the UFO reappeared and flew back to Franco, he waved at it and said: “Come on back here, please!” In a YouTube posted by Secure Team 10, Franco admitted that he was scared. “It’s almost at top of me right now; I hope it doesn’t hurt me. Please don’t hurt me,” Franco said.

Although, Franco requested it to come back, but the saucer just zoomed away and disappeared after that in the sky.

Franco had mailed alien hunter Tyler Glockner from Secure Team 10 stating “this thing came out of nowhere, hovered over him and did some amazing neck-breaking flight patterns. It then zoomed away at what appeared to him to be around thousands of miles per hour and it completely startled him.”

He even revealed that he had a laser and every time he shined it at the UFO, it reacted and almost came right to him whenever he did that.

In her book Dr Scott writes: “This gentleman’s unique testimony will be published here for the first time.”

In July 1947 Sheriff Jess Slaughter and Deputy Sheriff Charles Fogus were on duty in a patrol car.

Suddenly they heard reports of a crashed aircraft on the police radio.

In the interview Mr Fogus claims he saw a flying saucer smash into the side of a river bed and that the flying object was “100ft across”.

Describing the scene, he said: “When we got there, the land was covered with soldiers. They were hauling a big, creature.

“The bodies must have been 5 feet tall.

“I saw the legs and feet on some of them. They looked like our feet.”

Mr Focus continued: “The skin was a brownish colour…. Like they were in the sun too long.

“There were soldiers there….about 3 or 4 hundred of them.

“We seen them haul them [the bodies] out there, out of the canyon up to the trucks….puttin them on the tow trucks so they could haul them.”

‘Alien proof’ in FBI X-Files

In July 1947 the military sensationally announced in a press release it had found the remains of a crashed flying saucer in the desert.

But the following day it retracted the statement, saying it was in fact a damaged US Air Force air balloon.

The Roswell incident is one of the most discussed and controversial UFO theories in history.

Witnesses later claimed they had seen alien bodies within a crashed craft.

The strange corpse was taken with the wreckage to the mysterious top-secret Area 51 military base in Nevada.

Yeovil – 20 May 2013 – 23:15

Darren was just winding down after a particularly intense part of his Open University course, when he spotted something strange in the cloudy sky. He recalls: “It was moving very quickly through the sky and if it wasn’t for the moon reflecting off its silver surface, I would not have seen the triangular fronted object that whizzed on through the air in front of me.

“I really did see some kind of object going silently and very fast across the skyline at around 200-400ft. I would estimate the object to be about twice as wide as a passenger jumbo jet but it didn’t seem to be as long. It had a triangular front to its shape and reminded me of the black stealth aircraft that you see on television.

“This all happened in the space of two seconds.”

Vanessa was celebrating the new year by letting the dogs out to do their business before bedtime, when something caught her eye. She said: “I noticed an orange light in the sky, above a house approximately 300 metres from our house. It was an orange glow, at least 1000 metres high and moved steadily towards our house. It was travelling as fast as a plane, but there was no noise. It wasn’t a plane or helicopter and was travelling too fast to be a Chinese lantern.

“The glow passed over our house and then carried on travelling until it was out of sight. There were approximately seven other lights moving on the same trajectory at the same speed over the next five minutes.

“My husband also saw the lights – he has been in the RAF and confirmed that it wasn’t any aircraft that he was familiar with.”

Tom was enjoying a crisp November night when he saw a satellite in the sky. The problem was, it wasn’t behaving how he would expect it to. He recalls: “I noticed that it was in fact slowly changing direction and not continuing in a straight direction as one would expect.

“At this point I could also see another satellite in a different location in the night sky. The first object started to change its direction more drastically before a large flash appeared to the right of where it was travelling. a few moments later a second flash appeared from the same static location fading back to a singular point of light and then entirely. Each flash lasted for no more than 4 seconds.”

Kevin and Lorraine had spotted various bright lights in the sky on previous occasions but this time there was something otherworldly about them. Lorraine said about the incident: “It appeared much lower, bigger and brighter. A bright orange oval shape, moving fairly fast and silently.

“It appeared suddenly and disappeared just as suddenly. Myself, my husband and also a third person with us have seen this by chance over a least the last two years.”

Andy was taken aback when he saw an object resembling an Egyptian pyramid, hovering just a couple hundred feet above his house. He explains: “It was a fairly clear, very dark, starry night. I looked up to see a dark shape moving almost directly above me, heading from the north to the south. It passed by in about two seconds, covering the distance of a mile.

“As it passed over, it appeared to be a very dark diamond shape (rhombus), upright and appeared to be completely flat. It appeared darker than the surrounding near-black night sky and had a very dim ‘light’ at each point on the back. I estimate it passed overhead at an altitude of a couple of hundred feet and must have been approx. 50 feet across.”

Gavin was playing computer games with friends when a strange, low humming noise caught his ear. On looking out of the window, he was shocked by what he saw. He recalled: “I saw a huge black triangle, which appeared to have two white lights and one red light on the bottom of it.

“The craft can only have been 120 to 150 feet off the ground and was moving extremely slowly across the sky.”

This is not the first sighting of this UFO, as it seems to be a regular in the neighbourhood. Gavin continues: “I have seen this same craft four times now and it is usually heading in the same direction and it’s always a clear night when I see it.”

During a meteor shower, Ken spotted something that resembled a fried egg performing strangely in the sky. He explains what he thought he saw: “This light dropped rapidly before rapidly ascending almost vertically. It then began moving very fast in circles and darting up and down.

“It had no real lights, more a haze of white and grey and after about 30 seconds, it disappeared from my view.”

It hadn’t finished there though and the UFO was soon back to torment Ken. He continued: “I saw this again but now it went extremely fast from the west towards the east. It had a yellowish glow with three brighter yellowy glows within it.”

In the middle of the night, Bradleigh was driving home from hospital when he saw a UFO covered in Egyptian style writing hovering just 15 metres off the ground. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get photographic evidence but he did say: “I was really shocked of what I witnessed. It was a grey disc and had a multi-coloured aura underneath the craft. It had a semi-circular window on the top that I could not see through. I stared at it for about 30 seconds before it started to rotate whilst hovering very strangely. All of a sudden, it then shoots towards Cley Hill area.

“It left a trail of smoke or steam and a second later, the smoke or steam pulsated and followed the UFO. I have done some research on UFO sightings in the area and found that Cley Hill is a hotspot for some reason.”

Mrs. Quarmby and her husband had been enjoying watching fire jugglers at a party, when their attention was taken by a spectacular shooting star. What happened next though has stumped her for an explanation, though she does try: “What I thought was a shooting star transformed into three lights, which formed a perfect triangle pointing towards the earth.

Each corner was lit very brightly and I know it wasn’t a plane or helicopter. The lights were much brighter than the stars and much bigger. It looked like it was hovering, then vanished.”

Roswell has FINALLY been ‘solved’ – and ‘truth’ is more shocking than you could believe

Nick Redfern claims to have solved the Roswell UFO mystery.

Roswell has been at the heart of the UFO scene since July 1947 when the military sensationally announced in a press release it had found the remains of a crashed flying saucer in the desert nearby.

But the following day it retracted the statement, saying it was in fact a damaged US Air Force air balloon.

Witnesses later came forward to say there had been alien bodies within the “crashed craft”, which along with the wreckage were then taken to a top-secret military base.

It has remained the most infamous UFO conspiracy theory ever since.

But now a new book has put forward a theory that is claimed could solve the world’s biggest ever UFO mystery once and for all.

In mid-1947, a United States Air Force balloon crashed at a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico. Following wide initial interest in the crashed “flying disc”, the US military stated that it was merely a conventional weather balloon

Roswell: ‘I saw dead aliens and flying saucer at UFO crash site’

British UFO and paranormal investigator Nick Redfern suggests that the object that crashed may have been a top-secret experimental craft with human guinea pigs on it who perished.

In the book, The Roswell UFO Conspiracy – Exposing A Shocking And Sinister Secret, he claims the UFO myth was pedalled by the US Government to cover up the real horrific truth.

Refern’s theory comes from an interview he conducted in 2001 while investigating Roswell.

He met with an elderly woman, who claimed to have worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

She claimed that shortly after the Second World War, she saw “human guinea pigs” including the Japanese, handicapped people, and prisoners.

She told of them being involved in experiments with new aircraft.

Redfern discussed the theory on Coast to Coast radio in the US.

Host George Noory said: “Through her testimony, and other witnesses he’s spoken with in the ensuing years, Redfern has pieced together that the so-called aliens found in the Roswell crash, were likely these humans deemed expendable by the government, who were used to test out the rigours of high altitude exposure.”

According to the book, the experiments reportedly used technologies brought over from Japan and Germany using gigantic balloons with attached gondolas that contained the test victims.

Mr Noory added: “The cause of the night flight disaster in July, 1947 may have been that the balloon collided with the craft that was accompanying it, which led to the balloon exploding and raining down a large amount of tin foil-like debris over Mac Brazel’s ranch.”

Mr Brazel had previously said he saw two balloons come down on his ranch.

People have said that hieroglyphics were seen on some parts of the wreckage, and Redfern says it may just have been Japanese writing.

Alejandro Rojas, host of Open Minds Radio, who also interviewed Mr Redfern, said: “This theory is highly controversial among UFO researchers.”
