Greater Manchester – Gaining popularity as a major UK UFO hotspot

Greater Manchester has been crowned one of the country’s major UFO hotspots.

According to police figures the only place with more sightings in the last two years was Merseyside. They also revealed that the North West as a whole received more incident reports than any other region in the UK.

Merseyside Police received 13 reports of UFOs since January 2013, with Greater Manchester Police close behind with 10.

One Rochdale resident during that time told GMP she had seen a trio of UFOs, all flying together in formation.

She reported how she had to go to A&E as she was worried she would pass out from the shock.

Here’s more from the Manchester News:

In August 2015, a worried man called officers in the early hours claiming to have seen a ‘blue light’ moving erratically in the sky above north Manchester. He said that the object was moving 358-360 degrees north.

The bizarre report was revealed by officers from GMP Manchester North on their Facebook page. Eight other sightings were reported across GMP’s ten boroughs since January 2013.

The MEN also reported in August this year of a video posted on YouTube claiming to show a UFO above the skies of Manchester.

It was shared by a user named Chebbers Deighton.

He wrote that he spotted the flying saucer when he was looking out of the window at his uncle’s house, adding: “Aliens have been coming round this way for ages, mucking about and doing there dodgy stuff.”

But it was quickly ridiculed and dubbed the worst fake alien sighting video ever.

It’s not thought that GMP investigated any of the reports.

Some forces, including in London, Scotland and Northern Ireland, were unable to provide figures for UFO sightings over the last two years.

More than 2,000 UFOs were reported to the Ministry of Defence across the UK between 2000 and 2009, but the MoD no longer release annual data.
