UFO Sighting in Salt Lake City, Utah on 2014-10-15 03:05:00 – Witnessed object hovering over a ridge on the wasatch front for seven minutes.

The following exert is an eye witness statement. Please read into it what you will. This has been reported to mufon who I am sure are investigating:

I had gotten home early from work at 2:30 in the morning. my wife got up and we were talking together about finances around 3:00. my wife glanced out the window facing east during our discussion and said “oh my god, i’m a crazy person.” joining her in looking outside my eyes were draw up to a ridge on the wasatch front with a really bright light stationed just above the ridge.

it was as bright as an arc welder as it illuminated a large circle of ridge around it allowing the scrub oak on the ridge side to cast shadows. after a few minutes of not being able to locate our camera i just watched with my wife as this bright light stayed there hovering at what seemed to be fifteen feet above the ridge. the center had more of a red like glow to it as the exterior was bright white. it was exciting to see as i had never seen something like this before. i knew it wasn’t the radio transmitter station which was further down the ridge towards the university of utah so i could not logically explain this light at three in the morning.

it hung there for at least five or seven minutes like a balloon before it took off. it went straight up a hundred feet or so within a second before there was a slight flash and it was gone. i have tried to logically explain this one in my mind but helicopters and balloons don’t take off like that.

our discussion about finances took a back seat to the experience as i watched the ridge for another fifteen minutes hoping to see something more. tired and in need of rest we went to bed after.
